Pebble Sensory Eggs
We used small pebbles gathered during our morning walks to create a beautifully patterned easter egg! All you need is an egg-shaped cardboard piece, glue, and pebbles. Allow the pebbles to dry on the cardboard for a couple of hours before the kids can explore them. Pebbles are a great way to encourage kids to explore their surroundings and develop fine motor and sensory skills.
Twig Sensory Eggs
In this Easter craft, we used small natural twigs that were gathered from the garden. You can give the twigs to kids for sorting, breaking them into small pieces, and/or painting them. These twigs can be put together on egg-shaped cardboard. You can use tape to secure the pieces together or put glue on the cardboard base. This is an easy and fun way to get kids involved in sensory play.
Seed Sensory Eggs
We love all sorts of dried seeds as they are a great versatile loose parts resource for sensory play activities. Dried pumpkin seeds, custard apple seeds, musk melon seeds, corn kernels, or sunflower seeds can be used to create seed sensory eggs. The size and texture of the seeds are great for the little hands and help in developing their pincer grip!
Flower Sensory Eggs
Natural flowers with vibrant colors, textured petals, and sweet scents are great for sensory stimulation for kids. You can create flower sensory eggs for Easter using various colored flowers, and make different patterns, and color combinations. We used whole flowers to create a sensory egg, you can also use only the petals. We just loved our flower sensory egg, isn’t it lovely?
Leaves Sensory Eggs
We used natural green leaves to create our leaves sensory egg. You can make beautiful patterns using leaves of different shapes, sizes, and colors. Put glue on the egg-shaped cardboard piece and arrange the leaves as per your choice! An easy-peasy sensory activity that helps kids explore the natural elements.
Jute Sensory Eggs
Jute tactile egg was a bit tricky to make as jute fiber took the time to stick on the cardboard. We used small cut pieces of jute and pasted them on the cardboard egg border first, and then filled it inside creating a concentric sort of pattern. Allow it to dry for some time for proper adhesion of jute fibers.
Coir fiber sensory eggs
Coir fiber egg is an example of best out of waste! We used the coir fiber, obtained from the outer shell of the coconut to create our Easter sensory egg. Apply glue on the egg base (cardboard) generously, and stick small fibers of coir. These fibers have a coarse texture and give a unique sensorial experience to the kids!
Pom pom Sensory Eggs
We love using pom poms for our craft activities! We used medium sized pom-poms in different colors to create our pom-pom tactile eggs. You can also create different patterns using varied colors and sizes of pom poms. These sensory eggs are so much fun and interactive way to develop sensory and fine motor skills in kids.
Foil Sensory Eggs
For these Easter sensory eggs, you need small pieces of aluminium foil, glue, and a cardboard egg base. We rolled the aluminium foil pieces into small round balls, and pasted them on the egg base. Rolling the small foil pieces between finger trips is a great pincer activity and so much fun!! These foil eggs turned out to be so lovely!!
Clay Sensory Eggs
Clay egg was Aanshi’s favorite, as she had an opportunity to decorate it as per her imagination! You need only the clay and the egg base, no glue is needed. We rolled the clay pieces into long, thin forms and decorated the egg along the borders. We love clay as it can be squished, rolled, and shaped, and encourages tactile stimulation, and creative expression, and develops fine motor skills.
Paper Strips Sensory Eggs
Paper strips sensory eggs were one of the easiest ones! We used the leftover paper scrap from various craft activities to make these eggs. You can create lovely multi-color Easter eggs using paper scraps of various colors and patterns.
Pasta Sensory Eggs
Pasta sensory eggs can be created using different kinds of pasta, we used Fusilli and multicolored cylindrical ones! It’s an easy activity that requires pasta to be pasted on the egg base with glue. You can paste the pasta in a concentric circle pattern or in straight lines.
Bubble Wrap Sensory Eggs
Bubble wrap comes our homes almost every day as packaging material. We used this bubble wrap to create our tactile sensory egg. We cut out the bubble wrap in egg shapes and pasted it on the egg base. Now keep popping your Easter egg and have fun!
Thermocol Balls Sensory Eggs
We used small, colorful thermocol balls to create our sensory egg. Handling small thermocol balls was tricky, but it was worth it as the outcome was so beautiful! Please note that thermocol ball sensory egg should strictly be created and played by kids ONLY under STRICT ADULT Supervision.
